Tony, I'll be there with my technical advisor. Looking forward to it. OK, you got my attention about the 20 rooms and everything else filled. I woke up someone a couple minutes ago and made my reservation. They only had one non-smoking room left for Thursday through Sunday (with one double size bed). We opted for a smoking room and will take our smoke chaser kit with us). Lennell Isn't it funny how it all depends on who takes your reservation I just called and made mine and the lady said they still had plenty of Non-Smoking rooms. I got a King Non-Smoking. I said "are you sure" She said "I've been here 5 years and I know you have a Non-Smoking room" I said "thank you" ;D

I'd call back and ask for the manager Lennell. Something sounds A lil strange. If your like me I'd never be able to sleep in a Smoking room. Been there had that conversation.

I booked our room this morning (Tuesday) about 9AM and got a King Non-smoking room and could have got a room with 2 double beds and non-smoking. So there are non-smoking rooms available or where at 9 this morning.

Thanks everyone. I'll set my alarm and call back in the morning. If that doesn't work I've got another ace card up my sleeve. Lennell

OK James et al, I took your advice and called at 9 on Wednesday morning.
The outcome was rather unnerving. Seems that they are truly very overbooked for non smoking, although no one had an explanation as to why I was denied and everyone after me got reservations. The reason they are overbooked is that they are anticipating to open "the other building" around April 1st and then there will be plenty of room for everyone. When I reminded her that we would most likely be arriving in groups and that many people are expecting to have a non smoking room, she assured me that I would get a non smoking room and that the other building is always open by that date.
Did I say it was a scary conversation. Well, when I gave her my name, confirmation number, and tale of woe, she looked it up in the computer and I heard a loud "ohh no", then the phone went dead. I waited about a minute and called back. That's when she told me the story.
And for you doubting Thomas's out there, trust me I have a traveler's ace up my sleeve that I've only had to use a few times and it was not pretty for the folks who were attempting to wrong me. When we meet again ask about the rental car for my wedding trip, or the rental car when my car was being repaired, or the hotel room that already had someone in it.
When I was working, my nickname among those in the know was "the velvet hammer".
I'm off to the Williamsburg Film Festival. Will be off line until next Tuesday or Wednesday. Lennell

The Roanoke area group has 5 PT's making the cruise. We are leaving Thursday morning to meet up with Becky & some NC cruisers in Hillsborough (as last year) around noon. Tom tells me that he and other Charleston area cruisers are meeting us @i-95 & 64. We are going to have a BIG crew coming in to Manteo at once. (that's always a good thing ). See everybody there. Carrol P.S. My hotel reservations are made
