The 'regular' 'original' restaurant stays open later than the smaller 'grill' restaurant.
Both are nice but the Applewood Restaurant seems to give you a 'tad' more food than the 'Grill'.
The 'Grill' is nice for breakfast though.
Hard to find better food in the Smokies than this!

Haven't been to the grill. The restaurant closes at 8:30 or it did when the last Gatlinburg cruise in was held. Love going to all the shops, the winery, and always have to get a couple apple turnovers before we leave.

Becky, I have a suggestion for one of our dinners. Eat at the Applewood Farmhouse Restaurant at the 'Apple Barn' complex in Pigeon Forge www.applewoodfarmhouserestaurant.com/home.htmlI will volunteer to lead the caravan if needed. We can be there in about 20-25 minutes from where we're staying in Gatlinburg. Once we decide which night and how many are going I will call ahead and let them know we're coming. They also have a huge parking lot that will work good for us. This is great delicious homestyle cooking and you will be full when you leave there...I guarantee! The Apple Barn is an awesome place! It's a must stop when you visit that area.I agree tom, the Apple Barn is a great place to eat! However, there are no planned meals for the group this year... everyone is on their own. You are more than welcome to get a group together and have dinner there.

Apple Barn sounds great to me. We sold our second home which was very close to the Apple Barn. Lots of great times eating there.

www.carolinaptcruisers.com/GatlinburgV.htm Currently we have attendees coming from NC, SC, TN, VA, GA, AL, FL, OH, PA, NJ, OK, CA & NV! Here are a few updates/reminders for those planning on attending Cruise The Smokies 5: Only 12 DAYS left to register! ALL Registration Forms must be postmarked no later than APRIL 15, 2006. Anything postmarked after April 15th will be returned to sender. This is to give the Great Smoky Mountains Railroad a headcount and payment for the group on April 22, 2006. There will be no refund after payment has been made. The Registration Form can be found on the Event Webpage Link above. Even if you do not intend to take the train excursion, it would be nice if I knew you were coming so I can have enough dash plaques for everybody. The Host Hotel (Greystone Lodge at the Aquarium) is NOT PET FRIENDLY. Please check webpage for rates, location & phone numbers. Cutoff for making reservations is May 7th to get the PT Cruiser rate. I have added the Holiday Inn SunSpree Resort which IS PET FRIENDLY to the webpage for those that would like to bring their critters along. You will have to negotiate your own room rate if you choose to stay there. I have set up a store at Cafe Press for Event Merchandise www.cafepress.com/smokies_5. Check it out, there is something there for everybody! These items will NOT be available at the event and must be purchased in advance. Proceeds from the sale of event merchandise will help me recover my expenses for the event. If anyone has questions, please let me know and I'll try my best to answer them! I'm looking forward to seeing all of you again in Gatlinburg!

Becky, How many cars do you have so far? Hi Tom, I currently have 35 PT's signed up with 11 days left for folks to register. Will we hit 50? Tom, if you would like to look into making dinner reservations at the Apple Barn for dinner Saturday night I think 7:30 would be the earliest the group could get there. It's up to you if you want to take on the challenge. (I'm swamped!) Also, I will hopefully have a wonderful surprise to announce in the next day or two (if everything works out).... keep a watch on the forums! Becky

Ok.... are y'all ready for this.... hold on to your seats!
PTBoutique (Linda & Bill) will be at Cruise The Smokies! They will be selling their merchandise on Friday from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM at the host hotel. Saturday they will be doing the Train Excursion with us so it will be a great party!
PTBoutique was voted "Best Vendor" at the PT River Run in Laughlin! They will be bringing t-shirts with the 4 NEW designs, a new line of "Route 66" merchandise, plus all their great clothing, jewelry and accessories!
Now if that isn't just cool enough, listen to this... PTBoutique will donate 5% of all their sales to the National D-Day Memorial Fund! Now how cool is that!
If you haven't registered yet, now's the time to do it! See everybody next month at Cruise The Smokies!

GREAT news about PT Boutique coming! So if anyone wants to buy the 'World T-Shirts' just wait and get them there and pay no shipping. ;D
Becky, I was thinking that the Apple Barn dinner may work out better on Friday night after we get back from Cades Cove. Saturday is a pretty full day and afternoon. What do you think?
