Join the Coastal Carolina PT Cruiser Club for the Duplin Winery Cruise 2006 on April 8, 2006. This is our second year to sponsor this cruise and this will be a full day of events. We will begin with a side trip to Kenansville, the County Seat of Duplin County. We will have lunch at Andy's Cheeseburgers and Cheesesteaks. After lunch we will go across the street to the Cowan Museum ( www.cowanmuseum.com ) . There is no charge to visit the museum. Not only is the two story restored 1848 house filled with some very rare items, the grounds around the museum has a one-room log schoolhouse, a furnished log cabin, 10-foot diameter cart wheels, a blacksmith shop and a log tobacco barn. From the same parking lot you can also visit Liberty Hall, the fully restored ancestral home of the Kenan Family built in the early 1800's. Tours costs $5.00. Then we will take a short country drive to the Duplin Winery (www.duplinwinery.com )in Rose Hill where we will take a tour of the wine production facility at 3:30 PM. Following the tour we will be given a professional wine tasting where you will be able to taste the award winning wines of the Duplin Winery. Then at 6PM we will have dinner in The Bistro, located at the Winery. Dinner will be prepared by Chef William and consists of a salad, entree, a glass of Duplin Wine of your choice and dessert. Dinner will be followed at 7:45 with the fantastic dinner show 50's, 60's, Elvis & More.
The cost of the wine tour, tasting, dinner and show is $40.25 per person. To see more information on the Dinner Show package go to www.duplinwinery.com and click on "Our Store" and then "Dinner Show Reservations". You must click both the Dinner Show and the tour and tasting "Add to Basket" button to make reservations for both.
If you are interested in joining us you must make reservations [glow=red,2,300]ASAP[/glow]. The Duplin Winery Dinner Shows are VERY popular and book up early. You can book online at www.duplinwinery.com or call the Winery directly at 800-774-9634.
The show usually ends around 10PM so if you need overnight reservation, there is a link for local hotels and B&B's from the winery web site. Click on "Our Winery" then "Places to Stay".
We will meet at the BP Station at Exit 369 on I-40 at 11:30AM April 8, 2006 for the short trip into Kenansville.
If you make reservations by telephone let then know you are with the PT Cruisers group. If you reserve online respond to the email confirmation that you are with the PT Cruisers group and they will try to seat us together as best they can.
Remember make your reservations [glow=red,2,300]ASAP[/glow] if you are going to join us. I talked to the Winery today and they have seats available for now but they usually fill up fast.
