last count was 19. Hope it stays there or we pick up a few more. I am sure we will have fun. There was a Cruiser that posted earlier that he was from the Outer Banks, I cannot find him, but thought he might want to join us Friday night or Saturday morning. Do you by chance know who he is?

I would like to begin with thanking Tony, Becky, Dolan, and last but not least Lena. Their planning of this trip could not have been any better. Kathy and I began our trip at 5:00 Friday morning. We were up at the crack of dark and got our motors running, no easy task at that time of day. We were on the road around 5:45 heading for Morehead City. We stopped for gas on the way so we would not have to stop again on our way to Cedar Island. We arrived at the Comfort Inn at 10 minutes till 8:00. This is when our great adventure began. We had a round of introductions, telling others who we were and where we lived. Nice touch Tony. Tony also gave each of us a name tag with our very own names. That was in case we forgot who we were and to aid others on the trip in helping us get back to the cars and partners we belonged to. We left the parking lot of the hotel and headed for Fort Macon. This was the first time that day we would be turning heads. We arrived at the fort, parked our cars and began taking pictures. Pictures of our cars naturally. We seem to never have enough pictures of our cars. After a few minutes we all decided to take a walk over the to the fort and have a look around. What an amazing place, if only those walls could. We spent alittle more than an hour there walking around reading the posted information. This would be the first place on out trip gathering information and storing it in our minds in case we make it to the Jeopardy show some day. When everybody had seen as much as they wanted to we moved on to our next stop in Beaufort. The Maritime Museum was our next stop. We parked our cars and walked a couple of blocks to the museum. There isn't an entry fee but you can make a donation if you wish. If you are ever in Beaufort make it a point to visit the museum. It's worth the trip. You could spend hours in there reading and looking at all of the things they have on display. If you make the trip to Beaufort and the wife wants to hit gift shops this is a great place for men. Air conditioned and a place out of the sun. Next stop Subway. We traveled east on 70 until we reached an area were it was planned to stop and get some subs for our lunch when we arrived at the ferry. People in the parking lot just loved all of the cars. One lady asked me if this was some kind of car show or what. I told her about what we were doing and she had and thats when the questions began. Next stop the ferry. We arrived about an hour before the ferry was to leave. If you don't have reservations for the ferry you may be sitting there waiting for the next one, but Tony had taken care of that and all we had to do was pay our 15 dollars and get in line. Some of the folks sat at the limited tables and ate their lunches while we waited for the ferry. Now the fun started. Other travelers waiting for the ferry saw the cars. They began walking up and down the line looking at the cars and asking questions. You should have seen some of the kids. They loved them. After a short waiting period we were loaded onto the ferry for our two hour and fifteen minute ride to Ocracoke. I could go on for hours about how much fun we had, the things we saw, the food we ate, and all of the things we were able to do, but that would be a book. I will close with letting you know I'm sorry all of you couldn't make the trip. We had a wonderful time and plan to take the trip next year. The fun of watching people along the way turn their heads when all of the cars went by. Some people stopped what they were doing just to watch the cars go by. One guy was changing a flat tire, but stopped long enough to watch the cars. Meeting old friends, and making some new friends is what it's all about anyway. Thanks again all and we can't wait until we do it again.

Thanks Tony, Becky & all that had a hand and thought in planning the "Coastal Cruise".
Debbie and I had a blast. It was great to see old friends again and especially nice to meet new ones.....This is what it's all about!
We got home safely about 2:30 Sunday afternoon.
Bring it back next year. 15 cars was great but I know we can do better than that ;D
But hey...quality is better any day than quantity and I have to say that the people we had with those 15 cars were a pleasure to be with! Thanks to all of them for a BIG fun time.
