Oct 08 2005 - Picnic & Party - Dallas NC - How about a cookout and get together just north of Gastonia off Hwy 321 in Dallas NC? This ain't a show, bring a dirty PT if you want to. Advance Auto, Pep Boys, Chili's, neon lights, all have donated as give-aways for this get together. Directions and more details to follow.

Sat, Oct 1, Tannery Row Cruise-in, Tannery Row Mercantile, 554 W Main St, Buford, GA, 4 pm - dusk. This is a popular summer cruise-in with some nice local eateries and antique shops. It is the first Saturday of each month.

Sat, Oct 8, Kaolin Parade and Car Show, Sandersville, 9 am - 3 pm. This is the major event of the year for Sandersville. We are invited to have ALL PT Cruisers in their parade and afterwards in a local PT car show. Cars wanting to be in the parade should be lined up by 9 am at the staging area, Sandersville Elementary School, 514 N. Harris St. The show will be at Dorman Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep, 724 S. Harris St. Cars not wanting to participate in the parade (where you will be seen by as many as 20,000 folks) can go on to the dealer and should be there by 11:30 am. Cars in the parade will split off before the end of the parade and go to the dealership. Ronnie Dorman, owner of the dealership is really enthused about the event. He is furnishing wooden picture plaques for all participants, hot dogs, hamburgers, and drinks for lunch. Judging will be in 5 categories: Best of Show, Best Tailgate Display, Best Paint/ Murals/ & Graphics, Furthest Travelled, Top 3 Stock (no more than 3 mods), Top 3 Mild Mods (3-6 mods), Top 3 Wild Mods (more than 6 mods). We will set a time for judging, and the 50/50 drawing. There will be goodie bags for participants, a raffle for goods and/or services, and a 50/50 drawing, with all proceeds going to The American Cancer Society. This could be an Annual Event, according to participation. Here is the event registration form

Rick Jones will work on transportation to the square if anyone wants to do that during the car show. Some of the ladies have shown an interest in doing that. He has also booked a block of 30 rooms at the Holiday Inn Express, 508 S. Harris St. Sandersville, GA 31082 - phone 478-553-1414. The special rate is $61.00 + tax. (reg $75.00). These will be held until Sept 1, 2005. Mention PT Cruiser Rate. They will furnish clean-up area for cars. There are several restaurants & fast food joints within walking distance of the motel, including Zaxby’s, Wendy’s, Subway, McDonalds, Capt D's, & Pizza Hut. All proceeds will go to the American Cancer Society, including the 50/50 drawing, and registration fees. Bring your car flags. We especially want to see them on every car in the parade. Registration is $15 per car. On Friday night, we will have a meet and greet at Theresa's Mexican Restaurant in Tennille GA (3 miles from Sandersville). Their menu is varied, and includes many other items besides Mexican fare. They will have a special section set up for us and there will be special Margarita prices. You will be able to sign in at the hotel Friday night or at the dealership Saturday morning. We should be all wrapped up by 3 pm if you want to head to the PTCC Alabama picnic afterward.
