Coastal Carolina PT Cruisers are planning a cruise to the Duplin Winery for mid February. Date will be set in the real near future. We invite all our Cruiser family to attend. This will be just a day trip. More info to come soon. Real close for some of you, a bit of travel for others, but a chance to meet with the Cruiser family again. ;D ;D

We must all be a bunch of winos. We have one set up on the calendar as well to Morrisette in conjunction with the Star City PT Club and going to set one up to the newly opened Childress Vineyards (of Childress Racing fame). He says he intends on creating a wine that's perfect for NC BBQ. Now THAT'S a challenge!

We'll have to be there for the Duplin Winery Cruise.
It's kinda funny, both of us growing up in eastern NC, both Triste's folks and mine had grapevines in the yard. A while back we tried Duplin's Scuppernong wine, after the first sip or two, Triste said, this tastes like just like.... And I finished her sentence,..... eating grapes off the vine when I was kid!........ We were both very impressed with it.
Rick, a wine that's perfect for NC BBQ?? That is indeed a challenge! Cause everybody knows the perfect beverage for NC BBQ is an RC Cola. And, in the rare case you've still got room, a moonpie for desert. ;D

Why not plan on doing both. I am sure we will have fun and find some special wines at each. We are planning both if schedules will allow.

No doubt we could do both and no reason not too. North Carolina is now the 7th largest in the US for wine production, at least that's what I think I heard the other day. And supposedly Biltmore House/Estates is one of the oldest wine producers in the nation. They were making it back when it was a truly working estate long before it sold wine to the public or before wine became as popular as it is.
Duplin Winery has been around for a very long time and have wanted to visit it. Shelton Vineyards, near Mt Airy is huge and beautiful and real near there, probably another 7 to 10 wineries have popped up. COuld easily spend a weekend in that area. Would be a lot of fun.
We go up to the Shenendoah Valley in VA once or twice a year with family reunion stuff and always plan an extra day to go winery hopping. Within a 30 mile radius of my great Aunts house, there must be 30 or more wineries. Virginia has some excellent wine, wineries and vineyards.

Tony,
I hope Nancy and I can make this cruise. All Nancy needs is 1 small glass of wine and her ears turn red, can't wait.
February 20th would be a good time since it is her birthday.
Regards, John

OK, we plan to meet at the winery at 12:00 Noon. We can eat lunch at the Bistro then they have wine tasting and a tour. The Bistro would like a head count so they will be prepared. PLEASE let us know if you are coming and how many in your party.
