Thanks Darryl for the hotel info.
WOW, I realize the Comfort Suites in Boone is nice but $121 Sure would have been nice for a better rate for us 'Cruisers'. Probably because it's Labor Day weekend so we just have to live with that. Thanks for all the hard work Darryl & Wanda!
Now time to get on the phone. Looking forward to this awesome event again with you guys. GOOD JOB

Tom is correct. I fixed my original post. I wrote down 65.95 when she gave me the rate. When Tom told me of the different rate, I double-checked my note. Then I looked at the Smokies rate because she also told me it was the same. I guess I didn't hear so good, because that one is 69.95.

The Great American PT Parkway Tour IV Labor Day Weekend, 2007
Wednesday, August 29 Gathering at the Super 8 in Front Royal VA. We will go out for dinner around 6 pm at a local establishment. This hotel is very near the entrance to Skyline Drive. By the way, Washington DC is about 69 miles from Front Royal via I-66.
Thursday, August 30 (Bonus Day) Leave hotel at 8:00 am. We will leave our hotel and proceed directly onto Skyline Drive (http://www.nps.gov/shen/planyourvisit/driving-skyline-drive.htm). Along this path are many scenic views including Skyland, the highest point in the Shenandoah National Park. The total length of Skyline Drive is 105.4 miles as we end in Waynesboro. It costs $15 per car to go across the Skyline Drive. As we exit Skyline Drive, we will go directly to Monticello, the home of Thomas Jefferson (http://www.monticello.org/). Monticello is 28 miles from Waynesboro. Cost for Monticello is $15 per person ($12 if we have 25 folks). From there we will return to the Quality Inn. Weather permitting, we will have a pizza party at the pool.
Friday, August 31, 1st day of tour Leave hotel at 8:00 am. We will cruise along the beginning portion of the Blue Ridge Parkway (http://www.nps.gov/blri/) and its many scenic views. We will stop in Bedford for lunch and a tour of the National D-Day Memorial (www.dday.org). The group tour is $5 per person. Lunch will be at Olde Liberty Station (www.oldlibertystation.com). After the tour, we will proceed to our hotel in Roanoke. Dinner will be at the 611 Steakhouse. Total Parkway miles – 106

We will have lunch together on the Parkway at Groundhog Mountain. Lunch will be from Padows Deli in Roanoke. Complete menu and prices will be provided to all participants. Once we arrive in Boone, we will check into our hotel and then head for dinner at the Dan’l Boone Inn (www.danlbooneinn.com). Dinner is served family style and is $14.95 per person. This is a nationally known restaurant featured in Southern Living. . Total Parkway miles - 159.
Sunday, September 2, 3rd day of tour Leave hotel at 8 am headed onto for the end of the Parkway. Cool beans. I hate it about the hotel. Their GM is a real gem. Carroll got us some back up from the Sleep Inn when we discovered the Quality Inn didn't honor the original commitment. Thankfully, that is the first hotel to mess us up in 4 years.
